First Responder TrainingIn Person -- or -- On-LineInitial Course 40 hours & Renewal Course 12 hours Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a course completion card valid for (3) years. It's That Easy! Provides the framework around which first responders can gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to care for victims of sudden illness and accidents, which may occur in urban, suburban, and rural settings. Follows the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) guidelines. The course is designed to provide training in emergency medical care for those who are apt to be the first persons responding to an emergency incident. Fire, police, civil defense personnel, school bus drivers, day-care providers, utility workers and industrial workers are a few examples of those persons who would benefit from this training. The student will receive both didactic and psychomotor skills training in patient assessment, fracture management, airway management and trauma management. Successful completion of this course will allows the student the First Responder certification, valid for three years.
